It was on the 14th April 2014 when he asked for my hand in marriage, without a pause or doubt in my heart – I cried tears of joy (I said yesss!!!)
Forever, he changed my life for the better. The best birthday gift, I ever imagined. There is no heart for me like his, I knew I fancied him to be my husband.
I knew I wanted to make her my wife. I decided that her birthday was the perfect day to ask her. I had to be brave and just ask. I was not sure whether she agreed when I asked as I just saw tears......be it of joy or fear or being terrified The fact that you are reading this today, means that those were tears of joy.
Sli's side of the story;
It was a beautiful Sunday afternoon, September 9th 2012 when I attended the Metro FM Soul session. Little did I know that accepting my friend’s (Mbali) invitation would be the beginning of a beautiful love story. This is a day I met the love of my life... On arrival at the event, I notice a tall, handsome gentleman wearing a crisp white shirt and black pants, over a small conversation I realised I enjoyed his company and liked his personality. This is where it all began ....& the rest is history
Ayanda's side of the story;
It was a Sunday and most of my friends knew that I did not like going out on Sundays. A friend of mine invited me to the Metro FM Soul Sessions which I initially refused until he offered me a VIP ticket to the event. Till this day,it was probably the best decision I ever made or else you woudnt be reading this invitation today.
Short, smilling under a hat (panyaza) and sunglasses, I noticed this beautiful woman in shorts. She was so tiny in physique,my kind of a woman and I just had to speak to her. The day went by and we all enjoyed my favourite song which brought everyone to the dance floor (Mona and Son, Via Orlando),we danced and enjoyed. At that time we still had Blackberry phones and mine took the best pictures. I took a few pictures of her without her even realizing and that was my ticket to speak to her. Initially I thought she would be mad but she happened to love the photographs that she asked me to send them to her and getting that BBM pin was the first day of the rest of our lives together.
I was born, bred and "buttered" in a small town of Newcastle situated in the Northern part of KwaZulu Natal. I come from a big loving family. I am the son of Willie Shabalala and blessed with two mothers,the late Simangele Thwala and Zodwa Shabalala. Both women played a significant role in my upbringing and I thank God for having them in my life .
As an introvert, I prefer spending time with a few close friends enjoying good company and watching a game of football. What impresses me in others is their kindness, humility and generosity.
I grew up in a small town in the Midlands called Mooi River. I am "Inkosazana" ya Nelisiwe and Themba Zamisa. I come from a very small loving family. I am forever grateful to my parents for their strength and wisdom and most importantly their teachings which form the foundation of my being; to love the Lord with all my heart and to have a heart of compassion for others.
I get my energy from spending time alone and consider myself fun and loving. Despite my chosen career, fashion and design stimulate my imagination. As an introvert, style is a way of saying who I am without having to speak.
I am Sli
